How to adjust the burner flame of a cooking hob

In this tutorial we want to talk you and instruct you about how to adjust the burner flame of a hob.

If one or more hob cookers don’t keep the minimum, or if the flame remains high even though the gas knob has been positioned on the minimum, there’s no doubt, a gas calibration must be carried out. That sounds a complex operation, however, it’s a very simple operation, and it’ll take only a very few minutes.

To solve the problem we need only a slotted screwdriver and a flashlight.

First, turn on the cooker and place it as close to the minimum as possible, trying to don’t let the flame go out. Now let’s take off the knob and let’s light up the torch inside the hole. We must identify the screw for flow regulation (see image).

Normally the screw is a slot screw and never it’s a Philips screw . If there were more Philips screws, our lives will certainly be the golden one. Once identified, we must turn it anticlockwise with a screwdriver to increase the intensity of the gas. In the opposite case, our problem is due to the fact that the flame remains high on the minimum, then we’ll have to turn the screw clockwise to decrease the flow.

Once the right intensity is set we can reassemble everything.

Note: It may happen, in some models, that the screw is located inside the tap. See image.
